A Calendar of Placencia Events that lists current and upcoming Placencia peninsula area events.
Placencia Sidewalk, originally a personal concrete pathway for a bishop with tender feet to travel to and from his house to the Anglican church and school, is a 5,000 feet long concrete lane connecting you to restaurants, bars, an ice cream shop, and local artisan shops. Start your tour at the Placencia Municipal Pier Harbour and walk north along the sidewalk. As you walk, be on the lookout for pieces of weathered pink conch shells in the concrete as this is no ordinary concrete walkway, it is made of concrete along with dead coral, sand, and approximately 30,000 conch shells!

A bakery – offering fresh, homemade breads, cookies, macarons, sausage rolls, etc.
A grocery store – the very best place on the peninsula bar none to buy groceries, meats (including duck sausage), hummus, and a variety of locally made cheeses such as feta, gouda, cheddar, etc. with the same prices as you find in less appointed area grocery stores
A deli – fresh, made-to-order sandwiches such as fish and chips, reubens, philly cheesesteaks, ham and cheese on homemade breads with fries, chips, and other homemade sides along with drinks.
The very best place to gather and have great conversations sitting in comfy sofas and chairs while enjoying multiple, specialty ice cream, sandwiches, coffee, and wine. Look out the large windows and watch the world go by while soaking up the air-conditioned ambiance.
Right next to Chillpoint is the Placencia Beach Club where you can relax around the private pool and/or beach and order food and drinks served chair-side.
Che-il Mayan Chocolate Factory creates 12 different homemade chocolate bar flavors using only organic chocolate grown in its local farms. It also creates homemade chocolate truffles, chocolate wine, cacao tea, cacao nibs, and homemade ICE CREAM! Definitely attend the cacao farm tour and chocolate making sessions!
Belize butterfly farm tours make for unforgettable excursions as Belize is home to the famous Blue Morpho Butterfly and over 700 other butterfly species. The Blue Morpho Butterfly is one of the largest butterflies in the world with wing spans up to eight inches, and the vivid blue color will take your breath away.
